Seat interface principle of child car seat

The full name of ISOFIX is "International Standards Organisation FIX", which in Chinese means: International Standardization Organization Fixtures. It is a new specification for the placement of blow-molded child car seats in cars. This standard is being accepted by many car manufacturers, and the function of the hollow seat pan is to make the installation of child seats quick and simple.

The ISOFIX interface is already installed in the car when the car leaves the factory. Child seat manufacturers install ISOFIX connectors on child seats. In this way, the ISOFIX child seat can be easily fixed to the ISO FIX interface of the car.

The development of ISOFIX is an important development, as many people do not install child seats correctly, and surveys show that a large proportion of child seat installations are unsafe.

Most child seats are placed on the car seat and secured with crossbody straps (sometimes just a lap belt). However, different models of sedans have different seats, seat belts and securing methods. Different car seat shapes, shorter seat belt lengths and different anchor point locations can cause some child seats to be placed further forward or further back. All of these factors make it a difficult task to make a child seat suitable for all vehicle types.

ISOFIX was developed to solve all these problems. Its ultimate goal is to make any ISO FIX child seat you buy fit in your car by simply sticking it into the child seat interface.

Another function of ISOFIX is that it can create a rigid connection between the child seat and the car to make it more stable.

The Isofix international specification was introduced in 1999. Many new cars in service already have Isofix anchor points and are also equipped with infant and child safety seats. So anyone who wants and can afford to buy a new car with Isofix anchor points has now bought it.
